The Wood & Form atelier works in solid timber — primarily walnut, oak, and ash. The material is selected for grain character and structural integrity. Joinery is resolved through the design, not applied to it. Surfaces are finished with penetrating oils, not film-forming products. The result is furniture that can be repaired, refinished, and passed on.
Timber is air-dried and acclimatised to the workshop environment before milling. Dimensioning is done with machine tools. All surfacing is completed by hand plane and card scraper — the goal is a surface that reflects light evenly without the over-smoothness of machine sanding. Joinery is cut to fit — no filler, no gap tolerance.
